Kathi Roberts

Board Member

Born in Green Bay Wisconsin (Go Pack Go!), Kathi began her early childhood career in 1987 as a family child care provider at Fort Bliss Army Airbase, Texas. Upon leaving the military, Kathi and her husband James, moved back to Wisconsin, where she not only continued her in-home family childcare until 1995 but also added four sons to the family.

Traveling around the US for her husband’s school and jobs, Kathi opened family child care homes in both Oklahoma and Georgia. For many years in Georgia, Kathi ran a family childcare home, but also worked in many other areas of early childhood being an infant through preschool teacher, curriculum coordinator, assistant director and center director, along with being a Georgia Pre-K teacher.

Returning to college, Kathi earned her Associate degree in Early Childhood Education/Center Management from Southern Crescent Technical College and then moved on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Birth-Kindergarten Early Childhood Education and Masters of Education from Mercer University.

Kathi is currently a Technical Assistance Coordinator at the Southwest Georgia Child Care Resource and Referral at Albany State University, along with being a BFTS trainer.

When not working at the CCR&R, Kathi is the creative cookier behind “Artistic Edibles by Kathi”, where she teaches the art of cookie decorating in monthly classes. Kathi’s outside interests include traveling with her husband James, supporting her Green Bay Packers, and spending time with her grandchildren, Alice, Elijah and Casian.

Kathi looks forward to being on the Board of Directors/Professional Development Chair of PFCCAG and sharing her years of experience with the Family Child Care providers in Georgia.
