Time Sensitive! Grants for Serving School Age Children

Do you serve school age children in your FCC business? Then be sure to read the announcement below from the Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network. Applications close June 11th so don't delay!



Georgia School Age Child Care Providers Invited to Apply for School-Age Help and Relief Effort (SHARE) Grants!

All licensed child care centers and family child care learning homes that serve school age kids, in addition to license-exempt providers who have served school age children receiving Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS) within the past two years, are invited to apply. Grant amounts will be based upon program type and licensed school age capacity for licensed centers and number of school age children served for license-exempt programs. Applications will close at midnight on June 11. This grant is funded from a portion of Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSA) funding disbursed to Georgia’s Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL). Funds will help support providers caring for and supporting school-age children (ages 5–12 years) throughout the school year and those providing summer academic and social enrichment programs for school-age youth. Requirement In order to access the grant, all recipients must attend a 2-hour virtual training, Best Practices in School Age Care and Development, prior to the application deadline. Attend the virtual training:

  • Live on June 1, 2021 2:00 – 4:00 pm (Register here)

  • Live on June 9, 2021 10:00 am – 12:00 (Register here)

  • On-Demand from June 2, 2021 – June 11, 2021 (Registration link to come)

Providers can apply for the school age grants through June 11 using United Way’s portal at uwga.fluxx.io/user_sessions. You can find more guidance on the application and a list of frequently asked questions here.
